My aunt has had a pool in her backyard for around 75 years. She will be 100 next February and still lives in the home my aunt and uncle built together when they first got married. They built the house and put in the pool together. They still only have a 4 foot fence. They also have pyracantha surrounding the whole yard. No one has ever even tried to sneak in. Those thorns are long and everywhere. To trim them, we normally have to double up on thick leather gloves with long sleeves. And you still get ripped up.

First story - BS, they would have said it was a civil matter not threatening to arrest the homeowner. Especially if they had no proof of ownership. And why did he not call 911 himself when she didn't leave after being told to leave.

My friends (MF) purchased a big house on a size able lot in the suburbs. The did a major pool renovation on the back yard pool. The first summer MF urged their tween kids to reach out & invite neighborhood peers to come swimming. It worked big time & the pool was a big social gathering spot. MF/W was working from home so she was the supervisor who kept things very civil. MF also had big weekend parties for the adults too. A large pool cabana was added MF’s kids soon were in high school. Parties became even bigger. MF parent parties happened at least twice a week. Time marched on with both their children going away for college. Still have fun summer parties. As my friends professional life improved work parties became a thing. Soon MF hired a pool service to keep the pool in top shape. Then the children graduated & took jobs elsewhere. The cabana was turned into guest house. MF still had some weekend parties. In both their jobs MF left the house early & came home late. One day MF/wife was working from home & heard the voices of children using the pool. She went outside to find a goodly number using the pool. She recognized none of them. There was also no adult supervision & some of the kids were too little not to have adults present. Politely MF/W sent the kinds home. She was told that their Moms had sent them to the pool. The kids left some crying. They made it clear that they had frequently used the pool before. One Karen came stomping over. She was angry that having her kids underfoot was ruining her day. A few hours later some adults came to swim & lounge about the pool. MF sent them away too. For the first time in years MF locked the backyard gate & the pool gate. She also ordered top of the line video surveillance. When the husband came home that night he was shocked too. The backyard had always been an open door but for liability reasons that had to change. Very soon on social media MF were being attacked in less than friendly ways. They talked to the Police department. They would get video motion alerts. MF didn’t want arrests but police removal was desired. They gave the police punch codes to the backyard & pool gates. Several times the police had escort people off their Property. In the end MF just drained the pool

Yeah, I guessed that Karen didn't get the permits to host the event, let alone get permission to have those cars parked on OP's property.

New HOA laws have to be voted on and agreed on by the homeowners and their representatives. You can't just make up new laws on the spot. Furthermore, HOA are not allowed to make changes to a resident's private property without the consent of the owner. That work crew was definitely trespassing and damaging property.

The refusal of the cop to move his car brought back a memory. We had moved to Ft Collins, CO, back in 1982 and planned on driving up to Cheyenne, WY for Frontier Days. Left our apartment and there was a carpet cleaning van parked behind us with hoses leading to the apartment next to us. Saw the worker and asked him to move and he responded, "I will be done in an hour, you have to wait until I`m done!" Knew the maintenance guys and they told me the carpet cleaner buy never moved for anyone EVER! I cut the wheels on my big Dodge maxi van and pulled back and put the front tire right on the suction hose! About 2 minutes later, the boss came running out of the apartment waving his arms screaming I was going to have to pay for his equipment and he was calling the cops. Told him I had asked his worker to move and he had refused and I hoped the cops were on the way because I was willing to charge them with unlawful detainment! The worker was chewed out by the boss and they moved the van and we left. He never parked behind me again and the maintenance guys had a good laugh about it!!
